Add your first client

A client in UpAll is a customer company of your MSP — an organization you monitor systems for. Nearly everything client-facing hangs off this record: the client's sites and monitors, their portal, their monthly report, and how the status wall filters.

Create the client

In the console, open Clients and choose Create. Beyond the name, three settings deserve real thought:

  • Logo — the client's own logo, displayed on their portal next to your branding. Optional, but it makes the portal read as theirs.
  • Report language — Arabic or English, or fall back to the workspace default. This is the language their monthly SLA report is generated in, and it's per-client because your clients don't all read the same language. See Report language and timezone.
  • SLA target — the uptime percentage you've committed to for this client, e.g. 99.9%. The monthly report compares achieved uptime against this number, so set it to what the contract actually says — not to what you hope for. Background: What is an SLA?.

What a client record unlocks

Once the client exists, you can:

  1. Add sites — the client's locations and groupings that monitors attach to. A monitor reaches a client only through one of its sites; a monitor without a site is internal and invisible to every client. See Add a site.
  2. Invite client users to their read-only portal. Creating the client creates no login accounts by itself — portal access is a separate, deliberate step. See Client portal overview.
  3. Filter the live status wall by this client, and — on a paid plan — receive their monthly SLA report for each month in which their systems were actually monitored and checked.

Plan limits on clients

Every plan caps how many clients you can have at once. Your own ceiling is on the plans page, and the console shows how many you have left beside the Add client button.

The limit is enforced at creation time: the client that would cross the ceiling simply won't be created — the console names the limit you reached and points you to the upgrade path. Nothing you already have is touched. Details in Plans and limits.

A single client is less restrictive than it sounds for getting started: it's enough to model a real customer end to end — sites, monitored systems, portal — before paying anything.

Next step

Create at least one site for the client, then attach monitors to it. The order matters, because monitors only become client-visible through a site — start with Add a site.
